Hunter x Hunter 1999 vs 2011 I think it's fair to say that a huge part of the HxH fanbase came to know this series because of the 2011 Anime adaptation by Madhouse (like myself). There is also the 1999 version which goes up to the end of the Greed Island arc. My question is,how does the community feel about the 1999 version? Kurapika is a member of the Kurta tribe who were massacred by the Phantom Troupe (The Spiders) 4 years prior the Hunter exam. The Kurta tribe was an isolated group of people whose eyes would turn scarlet when angered or excited. These scarlet eyes were known to be beautiful, being one of the seven most beautiful in the world. It's one scene where 1999 is particularly good and 2011 isn't. It isn't really a representative comparison of the entire shows. The 2011 Chrollo vs Zeno/Silva fight doesn't even compare particularly well against the rest of its own show. I'm not trying to say one is better than the other. A lot of it comes down to personal preference. hsapin According to the wiki he's 4 cm taller. but they look the same height in the 2011 Anime. The wiki page might refer to the hight in the 1999 Anime and manga. 4cm is not a huge difference. Madhouse made Gon's hair spikier and his legs longer making him just as tall as Killua. Gon is clearly shorter than Killua in the beginning of manga and in the Tonpa (トンパ) is the self proclaimed Rookie Crusher of the Hunter Exams. Tonpa was Examinee #16 in the 287th Hunter Examination, and he is also Examinee #36 in the 288th Hunter Examination. His birthday is on November 1st, early childhood is a complete mystery including about his last name as well. Tonpa is mostly nicknamed as the "Rookie Crusher" by other Hunter exam candidates with more There are 3 OVA series that continue the 1999 anime up until the end of the next arc, you may be interested in that. Chapter 185 if you finish the OVAs, around chapter 100-105 if you stop at episode 62. If you're looking to watch the 2011 anime, I recommend starting from episode 1. There are some small differences in characterisation and stuff The series initially seems mainstream, but this is one the series all other series are judged on. Hunter x Hunter represents 'old school' anime, when there was a lead up to fights and you really got to know the characters, their back stories and their personalities. The series has been re-released in 2011 to incorporate the new arc in the manga. Fantasy. Sci-fi. Leorio Paradinight is one of the four main characters the Hunter × Hunter manga and anime series.
